I'm not paying good money to see this Transformers movie. Oh no, those punks got me the first 3 tumes. Well, the first and third movies are good in a terrible way. This mess just seems like mess.

As for the phantom pain. I don't have a mirror and the pain keeps getting less and less every day. So I'm good.

Unlike that new Transformers movie.

I really hate the smug gaming community sometimes, especially when they get ticked off at a developer for taking away their cheating tools. Here is what happened.

There is a popular cheat mod on GTA V online and Take 2 told the developers of the mod to take it down because it's messing up the games online economic system. If they didn't they would issue a cease and desist anyway. So, the mod got taken down, and now Steam reviews of GTA 5 are all of a sudden negative.

I'm quite sure that someone isn't going to not buy GTA V just because of some steam reviews, as the game is 4 years old now. However, to act like a baby when something illegal is taking away from you is absurd and juvenile. Besides what if this wasn't a high profile game, but a small indie game from an indie developer hoping word of mouth will help sell the game?

Get over yourselves... ugh... I'm sorry, but they made GTA to make money, not to provide you an avenue to hose over fair minded people...

The Phantom pain is getting better each day. I think my mind is starting to understand that my foot is truly gone.

However, the foot still gets cold, hot, itchy, and achy.

As for what it feels like...

Imagine if your foot was permanently asleep, and you couldn't wake it up, combined with numbness and a dash of frostbite, all at once.

It's getting better, but it is still quite the adjustment.

I get to go home next Friday. However, not before I lose another 20 pounds, and die from getting the wrong medicine.

The hospital gave me the wrong lunch. I can't have orange juice or tomatoes because of the renal failure.

Then they tried to give me dialysis 5 times this week. (Normally you get 3 unless you're dying.)

One doctor came in and asked me how my stomach was going. I said that I'm fine, but my leg is hurting me. She said that was normal for a stomach stapling. I told her I had a BKA, and that I am having phantom pain. Then I asked what my leg hurting would have to do with my stomach anyway?

She asked my name, and I told her, and she got my date of birth right, but was confused that my right foot was missing.

Also, I'm still waiting for that lunch 5 hours later. Plus who eats dinner at 4:45 in the afternoon? I'm in rehab, not an old folks center in Florida.

The physical therapy is great, but the actual medicine side of the hospital is a nightmare.

Opie is taking over directing duties of the Han Solo movie from Chris Lord and Phil Miller.

A couple of thoughts come to mind.

1. Ron Howard was just laying around with no projects in the fire so he could be brought in so easily to finish this movie?

2. He was bought in mighty damn quick for a sudden "Firing" by Kathleen Kennedy over at Disney. Meaning this was coming for s while and Opie was on notice a few weeks or even months ago.

Seemed kind of planned to me. I wonder how this movie is going to turn out now as they have 11 months left to get it all done. Plus the 7 weeks of results needed on top of what's left in principal photography.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller are out as the directors of the Han Solo (Unnecessary) movie. With 3 weeks left to go to finish the movie.

We all must remember that Disney is our lords and masters, and if you don't like what they tell you, then die... Or quit... They don't care.

What is old is new again. Ps1 and ps2 games have gone up insanely in the last three years.

It always happens when the childhood generation of a generation has grown up, and can now buy the games of their youth.

When I got older I bought Dreamcast and Nintendo 64 games and a lot of SNES games because there was no way in hell I could afford them as a kid.

Enjoy the price hike. I know I did when I started collecting.

Thank you all for posting and keeping the topic going; it really has not been an easy month for me personally. My mom had a stroke and barely remembers that I'm her son, and I had a below the knee amputation.

However, the show must go on, and that means you know the rules: Post anything Geek related, whether it's about comic books, movies, music, television, board games, or anything that simply interest you and others in a Geek fashion.

Per usual we have an opening question to keep the topic going, and that question is....

What is your favorite video game soundtrack and why?

Bonus question: What is your favorite video game song or songs, and why?

My mom is sick too P.O. She's been in the hospital for about 3 weeks now.

She has high blood pressure, high blood sugar, had a blood clot in her brain, and she had a stroke.

Her short term memory is gone. She didn't remember I had gotten married, or my surgery, and as of today she doesn't remember that I was born in June. She thinks I was born in December like my oldest brother. So noe her long term memory is fading away tpo.

She also thinks I have 2 doggies instead of 2 cats, and that they ran away. She's not long for this world, and I'm going to be stuck in rehab while she quickly fades away.

But how are all of you doing?

It's no longer called "The Scorpio" but instead the Xbone One X. That's not going to confuse mothers around the Christmas holiday season or anything.

We did call the price at 499.99... but why are we supposed to want this thing anyway.

Most of the games they announced are either going to be on pc or ps4 or even The Switch.

Personally I don't think there is enough content to warrant a purchase this year, and I have a 4k television with HDR gaming capabilities.

What do all of you fellow geeks think, and did you even watch the press conference this afternoon?

E3 has started. AS opened the show.

The two most interesting games announced by EA was "Prison Break: The Co Op Game." And "Anthem" which we will learn more about tomorrow at the Microsoft press conference.

Battlefield 2 looks like the game Dice wanted to make and release a year ago, but didn't.

FIFA and Madden keep chugging along. This time with story mode. Because ultimate team won't rip you off enough by itself. Because a narrative will help the yearly digestion.

Live 18... well that's just a joke right? I thought 2k killed that franchise for EA, but they keep trying. Which has just gotten sad.

Need for Speed... Well, I think Burnout 3 might be the best arcade racing game of all time, so let's just make that game with HD visual and call it "Payback."

Overall, not bad but not great.

What do the rest of you think?

Back to something Zeus said...

The reason I don't believe that The Switch will not have an over abundance of games is because of Nintendo's own track record.

The last great Nintendo home lconsole was the SNES. It was also the last Nintendo home console to have a lot of great games. Honestly too many to count.

The N64, Gamecube, Wii, and Wii U lack the games library to be considered successful in the eyes of hard core gamers in terms of a large, varied, quality, games library. Each console had some gems, but not enough to warrant it being your "Main" daily console.

You see a pattern has emerged. 4 straight consoles have honestly under performed in the software category.

I'm not sure how many times you want to get fooled into believing that a Nintendo home console should be your main source of gaming, or even warrant a purchase.

It's like trying to live off steak and lobster as your main diet. Those items are wonderful every once in a while, but it can't sustain you daily.

Therefore, until Nintendo proves that a steady diet of games is comungvto The Switch, month in and month out, then I personally don't believe that The Switch will have enough games to warrant long term support.

Never played a Monster Hunter game. I can't comment on the grind or the controls.

I will say that a game ceases to be fun or entertaining when the grind IS the game. You kind of get that MMO vibe from a game where it becomes work, becomes a second job, and the game is work. To me, thanks not fun.

That's why games like Dark Souls and Bloodbourbe do not appeal to me. Same applies to MMORPG's.

As for controls. How long do I need to play a game before I have to "Get Use" to the controls or the camera?

Actually one of my chief complaints about The Souls games are the sluggish controls, to me. I preface, to me.

Nintendo isn't going to give us a lot of games for The Switch. They just aren't. It's the old adage, "Wish in one hand, and Crap in another. See which one fills up faster."

For example the Pokemon Nintendo Direct this morning... What happened? They did announce a Pokemon game for The Switch. Pokken Tournament.

A port of a trash fighting game Nintendo doesn't care about or support. Hell, Nintendo doesn't even support competitive Smash. You think they're going to support this? They just needed a game to come out for The Switch. So they can go,

"Hey, see... we support The Switch. Games are coming. Not great games, or games you care about, but games nonetheless."

Jesus, Namco doesn't care about Pokken either. They have moved on to Tekken 7, and plan on supporting that game.

Nintendo did announce more Pokemon, for the 3ds.

This is the reality of what Nintendo does now. If you think the switch will be any different from the 64, GameCube, Wii, or Wii U, then I'm not sure what to tell you. Because clearly if you fall for this you are in an abusive relationship, and should probably get out.

Nintendo is just run by a bunch of old, out of touch, stick in the mud, ads hats.

Games have a learning curve these days, but when you have to put out an instruction video to show people how to properly control or play the game, then you have a problem.

Nintendo does this mess all the time instead of giving the fans what they want they just so the least intelligent and productive measure, and the fans forgive them.

I was cooking Thanksgiving dinner for my family and I got up to check some dishes and my ankle hurt, badly. I thought it was a sprained ankle, but after a week it didn't get better or go away.

I went to the doctor who referred me to a specialist, then to another doctor, and finally a third doctor who said my ankle was screwed. It has basically collapsed, and can't be saved.

I can't help but be scared of phantom pain and not walking and being a burden to my family and wife. For months I won't be able to do anything for myself, and that sucks too. Sure I won't be in pain, but a different set of painless problems now arise, and a lifetime of change is going to happen in a few short weeks.

It won't matter to some people unless it's their bike, or their music, or in our case, their video game.

The question you have to ask yourself is,

"Would you be okay with anyone taking your hard earned work, and not giving me money or credit for my hard work?"

Because you all bloody well know that if you made a hit song or a hit videogame then you would want every nickel and dime from the sell or use of that product.

So trying to pretend that ANY reason to take what isn't yours, in any way, shape, form or fashion, isn't all that bad or justifiable or even understandable is just dumb.

Nier: Automata is a game I want to own when the price drops to 20 dollars. Oh, I'm not saying anything g bad about the game at all, but rather how poor I am right now because of my wedding. (I still have not picked up Zelda or Persona 5.)

But as poor as I am I'm not going to pirate a game. Actually I have never pirated a game in my life. Why? Because it's stealing. Flat out stealing. There are no excuses you can make to justify stealing a game. Downloading it illegally isn't any different than walking into a Gamestop or Best Buy and walking out with said game.

So when this modder decided to not allow pirates to enjoy his mod I'm not upset at all. Instead I applaud and support his decision.

I agree that there are too many solid entertainment options out there in the world to sit there and grind a game in frustration just to get that one moment of joy from 40 plus hours of gameplay.

It is the reason I don't like Dark Souls or Bloodbourne. Plus I think the game play is too slow and stagnant. Especially after playing a game like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta.

It was fine when I was 10 to 16 and I had hours to play just one game endlessly, or because I only got a new game for my birthday or Christmas. So, it was okay when I had copious amounts of time to grind a game as a kid, but I'm closing in on 40, and I just don't ha e the time.

I guess this goes back to why I'm having trouble finishing games. I'm not 15 any more and I am being pulled in a million directions. I don't have time to wait for a game to get good. It needs to be good from the beginning or it's just going to collect dust.
